Yeah, I know what you mean... In fact... I almost wanted to see him BURN in that incinerator! I mean, I thought he'd redeem himself by that point, but then he just walked away! It made me so angry, but I couldn't think too much about it since Woody and the others were about to get burned! Afterward, I was at least glad to see he got SOME kind of punishment. I mean, as far as Pixar Villains go, I'd say he was one of the meanest, cruelest, most selfish, and almost completely unlikable by the end of the movie. Oh yeah...

I'm not sure how the title exactly ruins anything. Uh... the fact that it reveals that he's a villain?

This fact was known long before the release. I remember the thread called somewhat like "Lotso - The TS3 Villain" has been on the forum for half a year if not longer.

I've been watching Breaking Bad lately (okay show, nothing incredible IMO), but I've noticed in Season 2 there has been a recurring "character" (by which I mean object). I'm sure it symbolizes something, I couldn't tell you what. But it reminds me a lot of Lotso. If Lotso's true personality were reflected in his appearance. It definitely seems similar in color too. I don't think it's an intentional reference (it would be a mighty strange show for Pixar to reference), but I just can't help but think of Lotso when I see that bear. (Pic of Lotso for comparison purposes).

Ohh, that's really funny! Good find. Oblivious as I may sound- Was anyone else aware that Lotso wasn't an actual toy before the movie? Pixar created advertisements such as these: They did an incredible job with it, though, making it look as though it was from the '80s. It's actually... creepy after you watch the movie. Like Chucky in bear form.

Sorry, but I only watched the trailer, and Lotso was not revealed as a villain (in fact, Ken and the others looked dodgier). To have this confirmed by the thread title ruined it for me. But thanks for changing the title anyway!

I know for a fact I knew that Lotso was the villain before I saw the movie. There was more than one trailer, not sure if it was in one you didn't see or if it was told by Pixar elsewhere, but I did not read spoilers so I know it wasn't kept a secret. This is also revealed so early in the movie that it is about as much of a spoiler as "Carl's wife is dead" is a spoiler for Up. I actually changed the title to reflect that this thread is entirely about Lotso and not just one aspect, I had forgotten your request to change the title (no offense). ETA: Here we are. Well before the release of the film, not marked as spoilers then either on a major publication, Lotso revealed as the villain: http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/05/21/is-the-new-toy-story-3-character-named-lotso/#more-28982

What I'm saying is you haven't had anything ruined for you. This is revealed early on (it's not so much revealed as it is obvious), and it is not kept a secret.

None of the trailers confirmed him as a villain. Well, other than making him look very sympathetic when Woody and the gang realized that the toddlers can be very destructive. Ah well, I guess it's an 'open secret'. Sorry I kicked up a fuss. At least it confirms my suspicions anyway.

I have yet to watched the movie, but from what I heard, Lotso is quite the scary teddy. But is he worst than this? You tell me.

Get off that hoverchair and go do something original! I am currently writing a story with the goal of thousands of words. Proud follower of Christ. Christianity is not bowing down to Father Almighty. Christianity is embracing Father Almighty. ...a story be consistent within itself about what is possible and what is not, in the universe defined by the story. Even when things happen that seem unbelievable to us, we know that they can be real in the context of the story.
The context may not make any sense, but it we watch it anyway knowing that it has something to say to us.

*Shudders* Teddy Ruxpin! I actually thought Lotso was kind of cute - despicable, but cute. Teddy Ruxpin, on the other hand, scares the living heck out of me!
